This setting of the Introit for the Feast of Corpus Christi takes, in its first half, an attractive and mysterious theme, sung first as a
tenor solo and then by the lower 3 voices in close harmony,
and alternates
it with a hymn-like refrain.
By way of contrast, the
Gloria
Patri develops a variant of the refrain before culminating with a restatement
of the opening melody in a sonorous reharmonization
for
the full choir. |
