Liturgical Use: |
Eastertide; Whitsun/Pentecost |
Remarks: |
A splendid responsory motet in the composer’s
grandest and most imposing manner. The unusual text invokes
the spiritual transformation of a group of initiates
that has a definite physical manifestation:
"His Nazirites became radiantly white. They gave
their splendor to God, [and] became like milk that has
turned to
yogurt, alleluia."
